Weight helps identify a price band, but it does not describe all the work a dog’s coat needs. Two dogs can weigh the same and need different services: a bath without a haircut, loose-undercoat care, or a full groom with styling.

Why coat type matters
The short-hair bath does not include a haircut. The double-coat spa focuses on bathing and de-shedding care. Long-hair and curly-coat grooms include a haircut as part of the appropriate full-groom package. Choosing between them means identifying the service your dog actually needs—not selecting the lowest number for their weight.
Some package prices are the same in a particular band, as the long-hair and curly-coat examples show here. One coat category is not always more expensive than another across every weight. Compare the correct row and the service included.
Why a routine visit and a more involved groom can differ
Tell the team about tangles, matting, packed undercoat, or a long gap since the previous groom. Additional coat work can change the time required, the options for the finished style, and the final price. A photograph may help describe the starting condition, but the groomer still needs to assess the coat.
Also mention any handling or mobility concerns before booking. Our pricing page explains special handling and notes that needs discovered during the service can affect the total. Ask about known concerns in advance and keep a responsible contact available during the appointment.
What if a short-haired dog needs a haircut?
Our published pricing states that if a short-hair breed requires a haircut, long-hair prices apply. Discuss the requested service with the team before choosing the short-hair bath; that package’s lower price is not a quote for a full haircut.
What to send when asking about price
- Current weight, breed or mix, and a clear coat description or photograph.
- Whether you want a bath, de-shedding, a haircut, or help choosing.
- Time since the last groom and any tangles or handling concerns.
- Your preferred haircut and the home maintenance you can manage.
- The actual service address so route and any address-specific charges can be discussed.
Use the dog tables for dogs—not cats
